The City of Doors Initiative (CODI) starring in "One last bash!"

Well friends, it's been a long time since I've spoken to you in this capacity. It's taken us some time to get this all worked out, but all us ex-CODI members are thrilled to finally present you with a portion of the content we have generated over the years.

This package includes over 40 monsters - from NPCs to Cranium Rats to Maelephants to Manes. It also includes many new portraits as well as the Tiefling PC model and some accompanying heads. Included in the package are some 120 placeables - many have been released, but I think some are new.

Later on we will release the rest of what we have in a "sandbox" package - meaning, it won't be "ready to use" but will be composed of hundreds of placeables (many complete), creatures and tiles in progress. Community members are welcome to sift through and finish and use these files as they see fit. We'll be releasing that as soon as we get it under control - as you can imagine, it is a great deal of content.

We're thrilled to finally get this to you all, and sorry it has taken so long that you are getting it so late.

Happy Modding!

Steve Savicki asks: Could you please give a brief overview of Infinite Dungeons?

Stanley Woo: Infinite Dungeons is our latest Premium NWN Module, a revisiting of the old-school dungeon crawls we used to see back when we played D&D in our parents' basement.

Chris Priestly: It is a departure from previous BioWare Premium modules as it is much more centered on combat and treasure than we have ever attempted before. It was also a huge headache as NO tester should ever have to test anything called "Infinite" again.

Stanley Woo: And trying to test anything involving "random" dungeon settings is pretty tough, too. But we still had a great deal of fun trying to get this module up to snuff, and I think D&D fans and NWN fans will get a lot of enjoyment out of solving the mystery behind the Infinite Dungeons. We've got everything: crazy wizards, hordes of monsters, tons of loot, puzzles, even a cute little kitty named Skrinkles.

Chris Priestly: But as the Woo said, it harkens back to the old PnP dungeon crawls we grew up with. Enter a dark place full of beasties, kill them, loot the corpses and move on. There's something very viscerally satisfying about that.

Steve Savicki asks: The download includes characters created by the Epic Builders Guild. That all being said, is this really a role-playing module?
Chris Priestly: Absolutely. Even though it is an old school hack & slash, there is still a strong BioWare story with some very cool encounters, creatures and NPCs.

Stanley Woo: I suppose you COULD roleplay it, if you're a huge fan of Undermountain. Halaster's a pretty wily wizard and he's put a lot of obstacles in the characters' way. But no, I wouldn't call this a role-playing module. It's more of a "hey, let's go kill things and get some loot while figuring out the mystery" module. I think I had more fun with Chris and Bruce testing it in multiplayer.

Chris Priestly: Keeping in mind that Stan couldn't roleplay his way out of a wet paper bag. There is less role playing than in Kingmaker or Pirates of the Sword Coast, but it is still there.

Stanley Woo: Hey, I'll have you know that I've been roleplaying for half my life, and my theatre background has really helped in that regard, too. Just because you're a Mister Grumpy McEvilpants doesn't mean you have to make fun of my chosen geek lifestyle. But I (grudgingly) agree with Chris. There are fewer roleplaying opportunities than in our other Premium modules

Sicher also lesenswert.   [ 4 Kommentare ]
